Caricature commission

Here's a commission I started ages ago and finished recently. It took me a long time because it's huge, this one is only about 20% of the actual size, so I had to spend a long time on the details. I don't think I'll have time for any more commissions until after I've finished Jason Seiler's online caricature class, so if you want a caricature from me, you can email me around the start of April. Hopefully I will have time for some sketching and maybe some more acrylic painting before then.

Caricature featured in new Web Design ebook

Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything on here. I've been working on a commission which has taken me a lot longer than I expected. I'll post it as soon as it's finished. In the meantime I wanted to mention a new ebook just released by Ben Hunt of Web Design from Scratch (who just happens to be my employer!) The ebook - Save the Pixel - The Art of Simple Web Design - is a great insight into Ben's design philosophy and approach to designing clear and appealing web sites.

But this isn't just a non-caricature-related shameless promotion of my boss's book! If you look towards the end of the book, about 3 pages from the back you will find my self-caricature, which Ben has included to show the power of imagery on the web.

So if you're interested in web design, go and buy the ebook, it's a steal at £15. And if you're not into ebooks, the print version will be available some time in the new year. Keep your eye on WDFS for updates.

Oh yeah, I've also enrolled in Jason Seiler's Schoolism online caricature course, which starts on the 16th January, so I'll probably be posting some of the assignments I do for that before too long. Really looking forward to that, Jason is an amazing artist and I know I'm going to learn loads from him.
